Technology Solutions for Aging in Place

Assisted Living Technologies had the honor of participating in the CT Association for Healthcare at Home Annual Meeting last week. At our session we presented “Technology Solutions for Aging in Place” to the home care providers in attendance.

Experienced home care providers have seen first-hand the major issues impacting seniors and individuals with special needs who wish to remain living at home. Falls, medication non-compliance, loneliness and social isolation, wandering, and personal safety all can have a devastating impact on their patients and their family’s quality of life and certainly can have a negative effect on our healthcare system. These issues can even have an effect on the home care business – both financially and medico-legally.

Technology solutions for aging in place can be a valuable asset to home care providers. Our presentation provided Connecticut’s home care leaders an opportunity to know and understand how the emerging field of wireless, sensor-based technologies can be utilized in forward-thinking, creative, and innovative ways within our field.

We appreciate the opportunity to present at the annual meeting. If you have any questions regarding technology solutions for aging in place, please contact the Assisted Living Technologies office at (203) 235-TECH (8324).
