Best Home Care Staff in Connecticut? We Think So!

Employee Recognition of Excellence Awards:  January 2012

ALS Employee Recognition January 2012
Each month we recognize employees who “go over and above to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.”  We visit each field staff personally, or invite them to the main office to present them with the award and a $100 bonus. This is part of our Quality Assurance Program, and we thought we would share this exciting news with you.

Carol Wolosko

Carol has been a Homemaker for our agency since 1999 and therefore has been with us longer than any other employee besides the owners! She has always been praised by her clients for her outstanding service and dedication. There are many examples of things that she does on her own that show what type of person she is. Just recently one of her homebound clients, who was not a parishioner at a particular church, had been requesting to see a priest. With the clients consent, Carol visited her own priest and asked if he would visit this client – which he did. The client was so happy and grateful that Carol had arranged this, it meant the world to her. Carol exemplifies the term “Caregiver.”  She truly loves the seniors that she helps day-in and day-out.  She has been a loyal employee that is very deserving of this recognition.

Mercy MensahMercy Mensah

Mercy is a Live-in Companion that has been working at Assisted Living Services, Inc. since 2005.  She has had many different clients and we have had many of their families call us to rave about her service and say they adore her. This past holiday season she did a beautiful job decorating her client’s home for the holidays – of course encouraging her client to participate. We have even had feedback from an independent Geriatric Case Manager who said she sees a lot of different caregivers but has never seen one as attentive, intuitive, and caring as Mercy. She calls her “Top-Notch” – we agree.

Kristin Mercadante

Kristin is our Office Manager, however was previously one of our Homemakers.  Kristin did something extraordinary around the Christmas holiday.  On her own time she visited many of our clients who she thought maybe needed extra attention and brought them a heat-and-serve gourmet meal from “Mangia Bene” of Rocky Hill.  Then in January she took on several projects and implemented some changes with our information systems at our main office that will help us be more efficient and improve quality of service. It seems like every project that gets delegated to her not only gets done with the highest quality, but gets done quicker than expected.  She does amazing work and is one of our “unsung heroes” behind the scenes.

Join us in congratulating these amazing people and true Connecticut Caregiver Heroes!

  1. I am so happy for Mercy. We consider her a part of our family and value every day she is with our mother “Mama”. We don’t have to worry about Mom’s care because Mercy treats mom with dignity, respect and true affection. Her every need is met daily. Mercy knows what mom is thinking and takes care of all her needs with a smile.Mom has gained so much strength physically and is mentally alert much due to the companionship and care of “our” Mercy. She is loved by all our family especially Mama’s great grandsons. Thank you so much. Regina Wohlke,Kate Jackson and special Mama Robbins.
