Making the decision to remain at home as one ages can be a daunting decision. There are so many things to consider.
The elder adult needs to be certain as they choose to stay home that all their personal, financial and social needs can be met. If help is needed for personal care or homemaker care it is important to choose an agency that employs their caregivers, has worker’s compensation for them and takes care of their taxes as laws mandate.
The agency you look to should also do reference checks and background checks on each hired applicant. Our aides can travel with their client to senior citizen centers and adult day centers if that is an important part of your week.
At Assisted Living Services, Inc. we do all of that and more. We make ourselves available to you for interviews prior to hire and once we are managing your loved one’s care we do quality assurance visits to the home or phone call checking on your loved one, the caregiver and home. Our management staff is available to assist you with resources to help you fund and manage your decision to remain at home.
We are participating in an event sponsored by SEA, Shoreline Eldercare Alliance, on Sunday March 20 from 1:30-3:30 at the Guilford Library 67 Park Street. As members of SEA, one of our owner’s, Ron D’Aquila, RN will be speaking on innovative technologies in-home care and how they can assist you in staying at home safely. These technologies that are available can promote independence, safety and improved quality of life. There will be other professionals there to answer your questions in many areas to help make your decision easier.
