Spring is here and once again it’s the time of year when the Shoreline Eldercare Alliance (SEA) holds it’s annual Celebration of Healthy Aging, “Senior’s and the Arts.”  This year’s theme is about the ART of healthy aging. All three of the speakers at the event will bring a unique perspective and are worth seeing in person!

Joyce Saltman, humorist, can make us laugh despite the seriousness of her message. Joyce is Professor Emeritus at Southern Connecticut State University, her experiences in the areas of education, therapy and comedy has provided her outstanding background for her research on “The Therapuetic Value of Laughter.”

Mary Lou  Aleskie, Executive Director of the International Festival of Arts and Ideas. This June’s festival will be the eighth under her leadership. It will be exciting to learn first hand  from Mary Lou what is planned for this wonderful event that takes place right in New Haven every year.

Dr. Alan Siegal, Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry of Hamden, is well known for his extensive treatment experience in geriatric depression, dementia and parkinson’s disease. Dr Siegal is Board Certified in Geriatric Psychiatry. He will speak to us on the art of aging well.

For anyone who had not joined us for our past three celebrations, this event is free and open to the public. Also this year we will have art work from local seniors on display, live music and Fantastic food from local restaurants. You can download or print the flyer here.

Please stop by and visit Assisted Living Services, Inc. in the wellness test. We are always a proud sponsor of SEA events. We look forward to seeing you there!
