On October 5, 2011, Assisted Living Services, Inc. will provide interior design students  from the University of New Haven with a unique educational experience.  The new program expose students to current and future demographic changes related to Connecticut Seniors and aging preferences in community-based settings

Tom Daly, MS – Director of Live-in Services and Quality Assurance, will provide information on what interior designers may consider when planning a senior’s home, especially related to accessibility, safe patient transfers, surfaces, and care considerations.  Tom has previous experience in rehabilitation services and Occupational Therapy.

Brian Luckhardt will follow with information on various technologies that can be utilized in a senior’s home to assist them with aging in place, such as Wi/Fi Remote Monitoring Systems.  Brian has a background in biomedical engineering and electronic technology and is our Technical Specialist for our sister company Assisted Living Technologies, Inc.  We’re excited to be part of this new program which prepares our future local workforce to understand important issues related to aging in place in Connecticut.
