Community Guidelines (a.k.a. Sandbox Covenants)
Introduction.
As a member of our Assisted Living Services, Inc. community, we want to thank you for participating with us in our social media and social networking spaces. These spaces currently include our blog, Facebook Page, and Twitter Page. We are proud to be part of the social web and we look forward to connecting and interacting with you. These are our official guidelines for participation. We like to refer to them as “sandbox covenants” because a playground sandbox is a good metaphor for our online social spaces; and covenants are promises, or pacts, that people make with each other.
We expect our employees, partners, and business associates to act respectfully and responsibly on the social web and to follow our Employee Social Media Guidelines – and they promise to do so. At the same time, we expect that all members of our online communities will follow some basic guidelines to help us foster a positive sense community, ensure civil discourse, and protect the privacy and confidentiality of our members.
We cannot dictate how people choose to participate on the social web, but we can communicate how Assisted Living Services, Inc. employees and associates are expected to participate, how we hope other members of our communities will participate, and what happens when people don’t keep their side of the bargain.
To you, our community members, we ask 3 simple things:
1. First, we ask that you treat others with dignity and respect, even if disagreements occur. Please do not post material that could be considered an infringement on the rights of others. Be understanding. Show the respect and kindness that you would like to be shown. Assisted Living Services, Inc. reserves the right to delete postings, or block users, that it deems to be slanderous, obscene, soliciting, or threatening.
2. We ask that you be polite. We accept the good, the bad, but not the ugly. If the content is positive or negative and in context to the conversation, then we approve the content, regardless of whether it’s favorable or unfavorable to Assisted Living Services, Inc. . However if the content is ugly, offensive, denigrating and completely out of context, then we reject the content and will remove it.
3. We ask that you respect privacy and confidentiality. Many of our social media outposts on third party sites (like Facebook) – and some sections of our own online community site – are public-facing and whatever information you share may be viewable by anyone. Once you leave http://assitedlivingct.com you are subject to the policies of those sites. Assisted Living Services, Inc. has no control over the policies and practices of third party sites. Consider this carefully before posting detailed personal information to any social media site. We discourage member posting of any Protected Health Information (PHI) on our website or any of our social media sites.
